Farrah Fawcett (and michael jackson)

Every son of the seventies had the poster and requisite supply of Kleenex. She smiled at us from our bedroom wall, seeming so happy to be in our presence while she twirled he hair and . . . wait, wait, is that a nipple? What the ? ? ?

Farrah Fawcett died today after a three year battle with Cancer (8 years after her sister was taken by the dread disease). Charlie's favorite angel had her shares of ups and downs, but her iconic image and trend setting hair drove pop culture in a way that can only be remembered fondly by those who were there.

And I don't know about you, but I'm really getting tired of cancer and can't wait for the day we kick its ass.

In other news: Michael Jackson died today (in a move undoubted intended to upstage Farrah's death). This, of course, is assuming that he has been alive since Thriller.

Parents with young sons are breathing easier.

A strange day indeed! Especially for us 40 somethings who grew up in the 70's and 80's. I tend to think Michael was not a child molester...I may be in the minority and would NEVER let my child hang with him EVER, but parents who take money instead of prosecuting someone who allegedly molests their kid, are lying in my humble opinion. No amount of money in the world could keep me from sending his ass to jail. Now I am not saying he wasn't messed up and shouldn't be watched around the kiddies, just find it strange. :)N

I totally AGREE w/ Nikki. I don't believe he molested those boys. I am one of those 47 year olds that grew up listening to the Jackson 5. I even saw them in concert.

I never believed the molestation charges, either...He was a weird dude but I don't believe he'd have hurt a child. I'm with her on everything she said about money.

Kleenex? KHAKI!! NIPPLE? through the suit?

I didn't know Farrah's sis died of cancer..her mother just died and now her father's unwell; i really feel sorry for him.

I was feeling it was silly that the news is playing so much of his music on their 'news' as if we need reminders of who he was!? Anyway, it seemed that way to me.
I'm hoping he's found some peace.

Did you hear Germaine say "be with Allah" or something. I thought "WHAT DID HE SAY?"

Yesterday was one of those days where nothing seemed to go well. I am very sad about Michael Jackson's death (I am 28, so Farrah was a little before my time).

Like the other comments posted here, I do not believe that Michael ever hurt any child. He was a child himself; and a victim, I think. His talent was undeniable and unbelievable. The world will miss him, even though it made fun of him when he was alive.

Rest in peace, Michael (and Farrah). May God have mercy on you and give you the peace you never had on this earth.

well for me, I'm just upset I'm missing my regular politics talk because of 24/7 Michael. I believe it will unfold as another Elvis story, Michaels Dr "murdered" him, his "DR" is a drug pusher!

Well, I must admit that I actually think thhat there's a pretty good chance that Jacko was molesting kids. People in positions of power or fame tend to have a strange persuasive influence, even to the point of parents who otherwise would protect their kids. Just look at the child molestation within the Catholic Church. If parents who's children had confided in them hadn't taken hush money or been dazzled by the aura of the church that story would have come to light 20 years ago.
