Anne Frank Video On YouTube

The Anne Frank Museum has uploaded the only existing video footage of Anne Frank to YouTube for mass consumption. The video is only 20 seconds long with Anne appearing around the 10 second mark in a second story window as she leans out to watch a bride and groom below.

According to the museum, the scene dates to July 22, 1941, prior to the Frank family going into hiding, resulting in the powerful diary penned by a brilliant little girl. If you've read the diary then I suspect you find this clip moving with unexpected power.

I read the diary when I was a kid and have always been fescinated with it. I can't help but think about Ihmanutjob and his holcaust denials when I see this. This girl is the face of what he is denying

Man, that is VERY MOVING, Khaki..thanks. CHuck's comment moved me, too.
I went to Amsterdam and couldn't wait to go into the apartment in which they were hiding...we pulled up in the car (it's on a canal, not at ALL like the movie setting) and said to Mr. Z "I can't go in there".He said "But we came to go in".......
I felt like I couldn't treat it like a tourist trap........I stared up at the building and soaked in the atmosphere around it...and we left. Odd, isn't it? I just COULD NOT go up.

Amazing how such a short clip of seeing this young girl can be so powerful...yet it is. It causes one to lose her breath...

WOW!! So cool! Unbelievably moving Khaki and you were absolutely right about that. I don't know anyone who hasn't read her book...I am sure that will change now that the holocaust hasn't happened. :)N
