Fire Rich Rod . . . Please?

In a break from politics I have to take a moment to make an appeal to my Alma Mater:

Fire Rich Rod . . . please?

There were excuses last year, but all the crying in the world about installing a new system could never justify a 3 - 9 record while losing to Toledo at home (and do I need to remind anybody of the 42 - 7 beat down the Buckeyes delivered?)

Now the 2009 season has turned into another disaster. The Wolverines have dropped to 5-4 with a Big Ten record of 1-4. Are you kidding me? And Saturday provided a sleep depriving route at the hands of Illinois, giving the Illini their first win in weeks.

Enough is enough! This guy has turned the winningest program in the history of college football into a conference cellar dweller. RICH ROD MUST GO!!!

Wolverines Lose 8 For The First Time Ever (Fire Rich Rod)

Today Northwestern beat Michigan, giving the Wolverines 8 losses (5 at home) for the first time ever. Today Ann Arbor suffers through the first losing gridiron season in over 40 years. 129 years of football tradition and now we have to witness Northwestern and Toledo victories in the Big House during the same season.

Look what Rich Rod has wrought.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't care if there is a new system in place. I don't care if he lost his entire offense and most of his defense. I don't care if his name is fun to say.

Rich Rod needs to be fired!

Michigan doesn't rebuild. Michigan doesn't have off years. Michigan doesn't lose 5 home games.

Thanks a lot, Les Miles.

Fire Rich Rod!

I don't care if they don't have the right players for his system. I don't care if there are injuries. I don't care if the kicker missed a chip shot.

Michigan should never lose to Toledo, much less in The Big House.

Let me be the first to say it:

FIRE RICH ROD!

Water Wolverines

It was a Gold and Bronze Olympic performance for Wolverine Swim team members Michael Phelps and Peter Vanderkaay in the 200-meter freestyle.

Phelps, of course, has already won three gold medals in Beijing, all in record time. Today's victory was his ninth career gold medal and tied him with Mark Spitz, Carl Lewis, Paavo Nurmi and Larysa Latynina for the most in Olympic history. With five more events on his Olympic itinerary there's a good chance this University of Michigan product will soon stand alone at the top of the international heap. Makes me proud to be a UM alum.

I just wish he could play quarterback.

UPDATE:
Michael Phelps has done it! 8 Gold Medals!
Congrats, Wolverine

Terrelle Pryor Chooses . . . Ohio State???

Oh, how I hate Ohio State.

But I pity Terrelle Pryor. This top rated prep football player from Pennsylvania has selected Ohio State over my Alma Mater, The University of Michigan. Now he will never play for the winningest program in NCAA football history, never wear the winged helmet, never experience the support of 100,000+ in the Big House, never attend one of the country's premier academic institutions or sing "The Victors" from his heart. Instead he will be attending an open enrollment institution who's mascot is a worthless nut, who's biggest "football" tradition is performed by the band, and has a head coach who's scandals at both Youngstown State and Ohio State have them one witness away from probation. More's the pity.

Pryor said he had liked Michigan but chose Ohio State because it gave him a better shot at getting to the pros. Um, is that because the Buckeye's have produced so many pro-level QBs? It's an odd comment by Pryor, unless he considers playing for Ohio State playing professional ball. I just hope for his sake that the Buckeyes are paying him as well as Maurice Clarett revealed they were paying him.
